Fun ladies needed for beer-league, co-ed softball team

Helloooo ladies! (pretend that wasn’t creepy)

We’re a co-ed E-rec (beer league) softball team made up of active 20-30-somethings. We’ve had an awesome summer and really want to keep playing together, but a few of our girls are moving away, so we’re looking for ~2-3 ladies to round out the team. We play Wednesday nights at Mapleton, and have a helluva good time, too!

If you think you might be interested, here are some FAQs:

Q: What if I’m terrible/too amazing at softball?
A: You don’t have to be great at softball, but you do have to at least try. We welcome players of any skill level (we’ve currently got players ranging from never-played-before to played-through-college). If needed, we’ll help clarify the rules, give pointers, etc. Or you can teach us!

Q: Do you turn into competitive assholes during games?
A: Not usually. I mean, c’mon, it’s beer-league softball. While we love to win and have had a pretty good season this summer, our main goal is to have fun, friendly games and play as a team. That being said, we do try to minimize errors, we encourage each other to improve our game, and now and then we get in a little batting practice at the cages.

Q: I don’t like beer. What now?
A: You’re in luck! You can bring all sorts of drinks to the games! Mike’s hard lemonade, vodka-tonic, seven & seven… :p All joking aside, drinking is by no means mandatory, but we do usually bring beer to games, and depending on the game time, we may meet up at a nearby brewery before or after. You can join in whether you drink or not. (but it’s more fun if you do)

Q: When do I have to show up?
A: The season runs 10 weeks, starting Aug 14th. Our games are Wednesday nights, and the time changes every week. Games last one hour(ish), start on the hour(ish), and can start as early as 6pm and as late as 9(ish). We are hoping to find teammates who can make the majority of the games. That way we get a good team vibe going, can actually get to know each other, and don’t have to fish for subs each week.

If you’d like to come meet the team this week or next, shoot me an email or text and I’ll give you the details on our games!

  1. If a spot is still available, I would love to meet the team/join! My email is Please let me know! Thanks, Caroline

  2. HI both my boyfriend and I are interested in subbing or joining a team. My boyfriend has been playing in another league out of town and we are looking to get involved in a league together closer to home. I don’t have a huge amount of experience (since little league), but am willing to try hard and learn to play again. Let me know if you need someone.
